OUR HISTORY
In the framework of its economic modernization and digital economy promotion policy, Côte d'Ivoire has set up a free zone dedicated to information technologies and biotechnology.
This strategic project, materialized by VITIB (Information Technology and Biotechnology Village) which ensures its management, promotion and operation, is located in Grand-Bassam, about fifteen kilometers from Abidjan.
Indeed, inspired by technology park success stories across the world, VITIB totals today more than one hundred (100) approved companies operating in technologies and biotechnology.
Our evolution testifies to the country's will to be part of the global innovation economy, by betting on technology, youth and international partnerships.
Law establishing the regime of the Free Zone for Biotechnology, Information and Communication Technologies (ZBTIC).

Our Professions
Promotion
The VITIB's mission is to attract national and multinational companies to settle within the ZBTIC with tax and customs advantages in order to make this zone the technological showcase of West Africa. The communication professionals strive to promote the services and opportunities offered by the VITIB as well as the companies that sit there.
Operations
Account managers provide technical and administrative support, ensure the smooth process of billing and maintain continuous communication with companies installed within the VITIB.
Technical
A team of experts at the forefront of new technologies who design, develop and integrate applications and services allowing to ensure an activity continuity on the whole park. They also perform the necessary checks while ensuring the security of installations and establishing technical maintenance protocols.
The One-Stop Shop
Experienced professionals guide investors in all administrative procedures related to the creation and installation of companies within the technology park. They also facilitate close collaboration between approved companies and the customs and tax administrations.
Master our environment
ZBTIC
This acronym designates the Biotechnology and Information and Communication Technology Free Zone. It was initiated by the Ivorian government in 2004 through Law n° 2004-429, with the role of hosting technological and biotechnological companies creating a unique and innovative ecosystem.
VITIB
Decree N° 2007-01 of January 03, 2007 designating VITIB SA as the Promotion and Operation Enterprise (EPE) administering the ZBTIC. The VITIB designates the Information Technology and Communication Village.
UEP-ZBTIC
Order No. 245/MPTIC/MEF of August 10, 2012 establishing the ZBTIC Project Implementation Unit (UEP-ZBTIC), responsible for the operational management of funds and the project, under the supervision of an interministerial steering committee (CP-ZBTIC).
Where to find VITIB?
The Zone A is reserved for administrative infrastructures, for office buildings from 150 to 170 m², for shared services and for the reception of companies from the ICT and Biotechnology sectors. It covers 60 hectares. The Biotechnology and Information and Communication Technology Free Zone (ZBTIC) covers a total area of 624 hectares divided into three (3) zones located along the Grand-Bassam highway in Côte d'Ivoire.
